International Day of Forests with Ecological Tree Services in Brisbane
As global deforestation increases at a startling rate, the significance and impact of conservation efforts at local, national and international levels also rises. Offering clean air, water, biodiversity and climate contribution, the value of trees, specifically grouped as forests and ecosystems, will never be lost.
Through adapting to modern community solutions such as community gardens, planting on the sides and tops of buildings, awareness days (such as today) and environmental campaigns such as Clean Up Australia Day and Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, change is being made but unfortunately not at the same rate as the damage.
– Between 1990 and 2016, 1.3 million square kilometres of forest was lost – that’s a bigger area than South Africa.
– Just in the last 50 years, 17% of the Amazonian rainforest has been destroyed
– If the current rate of deforestation continues, we will have no forests left in just 100 years
One of the worlds greatest natural creations & treasures that we must protect.
