Stump Grinding and Removal

Most people think just cutting down an unwanted tree solves the problem, but it doesn’t. Stump grinding is a key part of getting rid of a tree.

Why? Well, stumps can be tripping hazards, especially if they’re hidden by long grass. They can attract pests, make mowing a pain, and take up space you could use for other plants.

We can grind down your stumps quickly and easily, getting rid of the last bit of that unwanted tree. Trees often have roots that spread wider than you’d expect. While these roots will eventually break down, stump grinding speeds things up.

Instead of nagging someone (ahem – potentially your husband) to deal with that stump, let Ecological Tree Services handle it. In no time, we can turn that stump into nutrient-rich sawdust and wood chips to nourish your garden.

Our process is simple and hassle-free.

First, we come in and assess the access to the stump, the type of stump, and other factors we need to consider. Then, we provide a competitive quote for the stump grinding.

Once you’re happy with the quote, our fully insured and licensed team will join us onsite with the right machine for the job. We’ll make sure everything is taken care of quickly and efficiently.

We have a range of powerful machines that can handle any level of access, from open spaces to tricky, hard-to-reach areas. These machines essentially pulverize the stump by “drilling” into it about 200 to 300 millimeters deep, depending on what’s needed and the type of stump.

You might be wondering what happens to the big hole in your lawn after we’re done. Don’t worry, we’ve got it covered! We believe in zero waste, so we use the aerated sawdust and wood chips from the stump grinding to fill the hole. This will then break down over time to become good soil!

The byproduct of stump grinding is beneficial for your soil. Wood chips help retain water and regulate temperature, keeping your soil moist and aiding in plant growth. As they decompose, these wood chips or sawdust enrich the soil and encourage the growth of mycorrhizal fungi and mycelium, which boost plant root growth and improve water and nutrient retention. Plus, sawdust is an eco-friendly way to ward off weeds!

Say goodbye to the tree stump taking up space in your yard in no time when you partner with us!
